Who Moved My Cheese - Spencer Johnson

We resist change because we are afraid to change, as we don’t want to get out of our comfort zone to try different and experience new things within ourselves. Other than that, people don’t want to change as they need to lose their past behavior to gain new once, and they’ve fear of changing and being a different person from their past.

However, we need to change ourselves over and over again, as it can lead us to a new and better version of ourselves where you can’t even imagine and the change is always effective at the end.

So, in order to change yourself, you should start spending your time with the people who you want to became, as if you surround yourself with those people so you’ll think and do things in a different way, which will later become your character.

Now I don’t mean by the external change at it only covers 20% of ourselves. I mean Internal change which consist of 80% within yourself, as if you change yourself internally first so you can easily deal with the external change as well.

Secondly, we overthink what we want to achieve and expect things to be perfect, but that’s the worst-case scenario for all of us. So, instead of judging and overthinking start chasing it and grow and face your fears with the help of taking baby-steps. Believe me at the end, it’s going to be worth it and you’ll start to enjoy.

We look at present situation, and understand and do stuff with our past understanding as our brain judges on what we do using our past knowledge and experiences, and that’s completely wrong. So, in order to avoid this all, you can do is forget the past and live in the moment and think that what can you do now to not make the same mistake in future.
